New South Wales
You will experience the excitement of cockpit procedures, observe aircraft controls, listen-in to air traffic control radio instructions as you soar high in our fleet of Cessna 172s. Enjoy uninterrupted views over the Blue Mountains and the Hawkesbury-Nepean district when flying from our base at Camden Airport, or invite our enthusiastic team to visit your region and view your local area from above!
The Centre has been operating since 1972 and tens of thousands of young Australians have safely enjoyed our exciting aviation programs. Our volunteer team from the Air Activity Centre will do their best to make your day a highlight for the year by combining the fun and thrill of flying with Cub and/or Scout Target Badge achievement.
Scout Air Activity Centre
The Air Activities group are there to provide your group or section all the practical expertise and equipment for your Youth Members to take to the sky!
And why not combine it with a weekend of fun camping?
The Scout Air Activities Centre is a Scout Activity Centre, Campsite, located in scrubland near Blanchetown, approximately 150kms from Adelaide.
Combine the thrills of a flying experience, with an idyllic bush camp surrounded by wombats, kangaroos and birds, and sunsets to die for with un-spoilt clear skies full of stars, and you have the Scout Air Activities Centre!
The Air Activities Team is based at Moorabbin Airport, and that’s where most activity days are held. Scouts have the lowest possible price, thanks to the generous team of pilots and ground crew sharing their time and expertise. Flights from Moorabbin are $60, slightly more for Cub and Scout Award Scheme Days.
All pilots and ground crew are registered members of the Scout Association (or holders of the Working With Children card) and each pilot is the holder of a current Commercial Pilots License issued by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA). SAAV operates as a charter operation under stringent CASA guidelines, rules and legislation.
