Scouts Go Solar

The very first source of energy that made life earth possible was the sun. However, still today, most people are not aware of dependent we are on the sun, and how underutilized this form of energy is.

Are you interested in learning more about solar energy and discovering new ways to use it in your everyday life? Then use the Scouts go Solar handbook to get started. At the end of your discovery, you can earn the Scouts go Solar badge!

We invite you to get active and use the power of the sun. Maybe you can find solutions for your own life or your community. Download the Solar Workbook

At the end, every saved or renewably produce unit of energy means less pollution and a better future for all of us. We invite you to share about solar energy. Tell everyone what you have experienced. Show how you use the power of the sun. And invite them to join you.

Get inspired on scout.org, and then inspire others by also sharing your own projects on this platform. We invite you to help others to follow your example and find their own unique way of using solar energy. Be an inspiration for others and support them as much as you can.

The Scouts put on a display of making a sundial using a stick and printout of where the hours would be, how to make a battery using lemons and solar panels with battery cells.

One SL also brought his camper trailer with the solar panels and batteries to demonstrate how to live off the grid while camping.
